You can also term it as a break from your daily routine, this workshop is designed to deliver an abridged course to deepen your practice. Our six day Yoga program is an intensive combination of Hatha and Ashtanga practice and also focuses on the alignment of body postures.

Curriculum

Hatha Yoga: a branch of yoga, the word हठ haṭha literally means “force” and thus referred to  a system of physical techniques. In India, haṭha yoga is associated in popular tradition with the Yogis of the Natha Sampradaya through its traditional founder Matsyendranath, who is celebrated as a saint in both Hindu and Buddhist tantric and haṭha yoga schools.

Hatha Yoga is made up of three main practices:

  • Body postures (asanas)
  • Breathing techniques (pranayama)
  • Relaxation and meditation (dyana)

Some of the benefits of Hatha Yoga includes the following:

  • The benefits of Hatha yoga include better sleep, strengthening core muscles, improving depression symptoms, and helping with stress management.
  • Hatha yoga is a type of yoga that emphasizes holding poses for long periods of time.
  • It enhances strength, flexibility, and balance. It is a systemized exposition of posture, breathing, purification, and meditation.

Ashtanga Yoga: is a system of yoga recorded by the sage Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta, an ancient manuscript “said to contain lists of many different groupings of asanas, as well as highly original teachings on vinyasa, drishti, bandhas, mudras, and philosophy”

Some of the benefits of Hatha Yoga includes the following:

  • Ashtanga will gradually improve your flexibility over time.
  • There are sixty vinyasas in the Ashtanga yoga primary series (that’s the flow you do between every posture). For a lot of the movements, you are working to hold your bodyweight upon just your hands or you are balancing on one leg – this builds a ton of strength in your core and increases your overall body strength.
  • All that increased strength is possible because whilst doing those movements you are building muscle all over your body.
  • Improves cardiovascular fitness and reduces body fat
  • Reduces stress and anxiety and increases focus and creativity
